Headteacher’s welcome
Mrs E Jones, Headteacher
On behalf of the Corbett family, I would like to extend a warm welcome to our school website and hope that as you explore it you gain a sense of the enabling and caring ethos we foster here.
Our school is situated in the heart of the Staffordshire countryside, near Bobbington, and serves 80+ fantastic children aged 3 to 11 from a widespread, yet loving community.
It is a privilege to work with such happy, hardworking and polite pupils and welcoming, supportive staff.
Love to learn and learn to love
Everything we do is underpinned by our vision: “Love to learn and learn to love.” We have the children at the heart of all we do, and aim for all children to experience high expectations and quality teaching to enable them to be their best academically and personally.

Platinum School Games award

We’re delighted to announce that Corbett has won the Platinum School Games Mark Award for the 2025-26 academic year. This is a government-led award scheme created in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across school and into the community.
Our sporting achievement this year include:
- Finalists in the local football tournament
- Finalists in the cross country
- Our boys’ and girls’ football teams have participated in more than nine matches in the year between them
A special thanks to our pupils and staff who’ve collectively made this possible. Well done all!

Rosa
Meet Rosa, our school dog who is a beautiful Show Cocker Spaniel.
Rosa is not just any dog — she’s a graceful and elegant representative of the wonderful Cocker Spaniel breed. Show Cockers are known for their long, silky coats, expressive eyes, and gentle, affectionate personalities, and Rosa is the perfect example of all these qualities!
As our school dog, Rosa brings:
- Calm and comforting companionship
- Support for learning and wellbeing
- Joy, smiles, and lots of tail wags
She loves meeting new friends, being gently fussed, and brightening everyone’s day with her sweet nature. We are so proud to introduce Rosa to our school and we know she will make a paws-itive difference. 🐾
Peace Garden opens
On Friday 23rd May 2025, our new Peace Garden was formally opened in a ceremony involving parents and friends of Corbett. The project saw the redevelopment of our outdoor space to make it more accessible and useful, and it’s been a roaring success! You can read about the renovation work in our short retrospective.
Fortunately, the weather was glorious! Our heartfelt thanks to all those staff and parents who made the project such a success. We couldn’t have done it without you.
The local Express & Star sent a reporter and you can read the article here (most of it is behind a paywall, unfortunately). The paper also shot this video promo:
We will remember them
On Monday 11th November 2024, Daisy class performed A Letter from the Trenches to an enthusiastic reception from parents and local residents. BBC Midlands Today reporters were present and we made the evening news!
To commemorate the 110th anniversary of WW1, the children in Years 3 and 4 have been practicing hard for a play entitled A Letter from the Trenches. From this, the children have not only produced some wonderful writing and work, but they’ve also found personal links to family members affected and gained an understanding of why it is so important that we remember. The children have learnt to empathize with the characters they are playing.
See our Facebook page for more!
Well done all, and thanks to producer Mrs Langford!
